"My home installed a smart meter last month, and this month's electricity bill doubled!"

"The installation of smart meters is to charge more"

"The power supply company and the meter factory must have been involved“

I really admire those malicious rumormongers. It's really "If you are out to condemn somebody, you can always trump up a charge.". So today I will tell the truth one by one, so that everyone can use electricity clearly.

Will smart meters measure more electricity bills?

At present, the smart meters of users directly managed by the provincial national grid have basically reached full coverage. However, at this time, various rumors about smart meters began to spread. It is a rumor widely spread that smart meters charge more. It is felt that there are two reasons for the increase in charges:

      1. Because the mechanical electricity meters used before are post paid. After the smart meter is replaced, it is changed to the prepaid electricity charge. Therefore, in the first month of meter change, both the electricity charge of last month and the electricity charge of next month should be settled. Two sums of money will go out at once. Wow, a lot, but the power supply company didn't overcharge~

  2. Smart electricity is more sensitive than mechanical meters. Tiny changes in household electricity consumption can be calculated. The original mechanical electricity meter runs for a long time and is seriously aged, so it will count less electricity. After the smart meter is replaced, it will return to normal metering, so the meter will feel fast.

It is normal to have a small amount of electricity charge change after the smart meter is replaced. But if the change of electricity charge is too large, we should find problems from our own electricity habits and equipment~

-What does 5(60) A mean?

5A on the smart meter is the reference current. 60A is the large current allowed to pass. The 5 (60) A meter can accurately measure between 0.25A and 72A.

The current between 5 and 60A is allowed for smart meters. There is no such thing as a small meter or a large meter.

Does the customer pay for the lights on the smart meter?

Although smart meters consume electricity themselves, they do not use electricity from customers' homes. This part of electricity is borne by the power supply company. You can do the experiment yourself: if there is no leakage problem in your home. Turn off the main switch of the meter, and the pulse light on the smart meter will not flash. But the number on the meter still shows. If the pulse light does not flash, it means that there is no current in your home. Don't believe it, go home and try~

- 4 -
Does the light on the smart electricity meter flash once to indicate that it uses one kilowatt hour of electricity?

The flashing of the pulse light on the smart meter means that the line is loaded. The flashing frequency of the pulse lamp varies with the power load. The greater the electrical load, the faster the flash. If "1600mp/kWh" is marked on the panel of the meter, it means that the customer consumes 1 kilowatt hour of electric energy, and the pulse lamp flashes 1600 times. If it is marked as "1200imp/kWh", it means that the customer consumes 1 kilowatt hour of electricity, and the pulse lamp flashes 1200 times. So don't let your heart beat faster every time you see the light flashing faster.

Why is the red light still flashing when all the electrical appliances at home are turned off?

The flashing red light indicates that there is power consumption at home. But sometimes you feel that the household appliances have been turned off. Why are they still flickering. That is because in standby mode, electrical appliances and lines still need to consume power to maintain the start signal receiving circuit. It is recommended that you unplug the socket of household appliances without using electricity. In addition, if the insulation layer of indoor line is aging. It may cause leakage current and consume electric energy.

Can smart meters measure accurately and fairly?

You can rest assured of this. The quality requirements of smart meters are very strict. Before the installation of smart meters, the statutory electric energy measurement verification organization authorized by the national quality and technical supervision department will conduct an all-round inspection and test on the accuracy and stability of the meter measurement according to the relevant national standards. Ensure the performance of smart meters. After the installation of smart meters, power supply enterprises will also conduct quality supervision and spot check every year according to the national requirements.

How to transfer the ownership of smart electricity meter when the house is transferred?

After the transfer of ownership of the house, the buyer and seller of the house shall go through the transfer formalities in the business hall of the power supply company in the district and county where they are located. With 《the Smart Meter Customer Electricity Use Registration Form》 of the original smart meter customer, the original and copy of the house property right certificate, and the original and copy of the house property owner's ID card.

The original customer needs to pay the ladder price difference electricity charge before the transfer date. After the transfer, there are actually several months from the month of transfer to the end of the year, and the power company will recalculate the tiered electricity of new customers. Then new customers can use and purchase electricity normally.

How to replace the smart meter if there is a problem?

When using the smart meter, residents can call or directly go to the business hall for consultation if they encounter problems with the smart meter. The power supply company will send special personnel to the site for fault investigation. There are two kinds of fault causes as follows: 1. The meter fault is caused by the user's own reasons (for example, burning the meter due to overload). The replacement cost shall be borne by the user. 2. The fault is caused by the power grid (for example, the fault of the electricity meter itself). The cost of replacing the electricity meter shall be borne by the power supply company.
